A little about me...
Every since I was a little boy, I always wanted to draw and design. I have been very lucky to be able do that as an adult in my professional career. I obtained my B.F.A in Fashion Design at the prestigious Parsons School of Design where I had teachers and mentors like Bob Mackie and Carmelo Pomodoro to name a few. After graduating from Parsons I have continue to work in NYC's fashion industry for many firms and many markets including women's wear and childrenswear.
In my years of working on 7th Avenue I have grown so much as a designer, embracing all the new technologies and CAD programs to enhance the creative process. During this time I have developed very strong technical skills. I have worked extensively with pattern-makers and sample makers in order to achieve the complete development of an original design from the first drawing through showroom samples and ultimately the final product in the stores.
I have extensive experience in developing original design concepts of my own or from other members of a design team through technical design sketches and corresponding specs. I'm experienced in "rubbing-off" patterns and making detailed technical drawings/ specs with design store bought samples for further development in overseas factories. Also, I have thorough knowledge of draping, flat pattern-making and garment construction as well as experienced in conducting fit sessions with a model for showroom and or production fit sample comments to factories overseas.
I have an excellent color sense and thoroughly know the lab-dip and strike-offs approval process involved in the developing stage. I also have experience in creating original embroideries, appliques, original yarn-dyes and original prints for each season. I fully understand the expectations as well as the limitations involved from design to production.
I have hands-on knowledge of cost analysis and pricing for production. I have a proven track record of delivering profitable collections with solid sell-thru's at retail in adherence to a time and action calendar.
